The 1998 Bird Story

amber

Amber worked very hard this day to acquire and deliver our ducks to us. Doc, Troy and I managed to fill our eight bird per hunter limit within a couple of hours.

early limit of ducks

We certainly enjoyed the hunt and each of us brought a very large cooler home stuffed with bear meat, duck, goose, grouse, pike and walleye.

geese

We only hunted geese one morning and did not have great success at getting them into our decoys. However we did manage to get a few nice birds for the table and had a great time.

Dr. David Frederick was my family physician until, during one appointment, I noticed photos of ducks and other game birds on his office wall. That was all it took to get us started talking hunting.
Now Doc and I spend a whole lot more time together on ponds, marshes and in buck country then we do in an office or examining room. Dave is just a good guy who loves his hunting. Since this time we have gone on a couple of Saskatchewan bird hunts, a bear hunt and a Texas whitetail hunt, and managed to get in some fishing in our spare time. What's that you say Doc --- Caribou next???
