Wide Mouth Mason - Where I started
"Where I started", their follow-up to "The Nazarene" was long anticipated.  This blues rock bank from Saskatoon gives us 12 fresh and exciting songs including the hit single, "Why". A great and more mature sound and feel makes for a great album. They've also started their "Play it Safe" tour sponsored by "Durex Condoms". Watch for the "sperm bus" in your cd!

Sloan - 4 Nights at the Palais Royale
A double live album containing 24 songs from the bands biggest hits. This album lets us feel like we're right there moshing and body Surfing while Chris Murphy belts out the lyrics. Sloan is currently working yet another album to be released in the late fall.

Edwin - Another Spin Around the Sun
The former frontman for I Mother Earth has done it again. He's solo and he loves it. He says writing songs for the first time was the hardest thing  he's ever done, put it's what he wants. His first single , "trippin'", did very well on muchmusic and got lots of time on muchmusic.  He's now released his second single titles "Hang Ten" and plans to have the new video out by early July.  11 amazing tracks including the single, "Trippin'", "Hang Ten", "Any You", "Alive", "Theories" and more!  See Edwin at Edgefest '99 and a city near you!!

The Tea Party - Triptych
The Tea Party's new album titled "Triptych" isn't a continuation, or "Transmition", or "Splendor", or "Twilight". Triptych is it's own album but is still very much a Tea Party effort. In fact has been called their best album yet by some fans. "Triptych" contains the well known first single titles, "Heaven Coming Down" which is already a radio hit and is now getting heavy rotation on muchmusic, and musique plus. Lead vocalist Jeff Martin says this album was more fun to make, and is focusing more on having fun than trying to impress anyone. The end result is yet another high quality album by the men in black - The Tea Party.

MOIST - Mercedes Five and Dime
Hight expectations were on Moist as they released their third album titles, "Mercedes Five and Dime".  The band had gone 4 times platinum on both "Silver", and, "Creature".  Moist toured with Edgefest to show off some of their new stuff and to play in more than 2 years.  The crowd reaction was great.  Canada Alternative highly recommends you to buy this album, we think it's their best yet.  Listen for great songs like, breathe, dogs, underground, and fish".

I MOTHER EARTH - BLUE, GREEN, ORANGE
Edwin's departure in July '97 was rough and nobody though they'd ever play again despite the claiming they were looking for a new lead singer.  But in Nov '97 they found Newfie Brian Byrne who showed us that he is right for the job.  Remers that the band would change there name were denied as they stuck with the well knows name "I Mother Earth".  And although the voice has changes the sound is 100% I Mother Earth.  To listen to it and not call it I Mother Earth just can't be done.  Brian's voice has a rougher and less defines style than Edwin's and is louder and brings a higher level of energy on to the stage.  "Blue, Green, Orange" comes with 11 tracks including their first and already well known single, "Summertime in the Void" with an amazing video.  Canada Alternative highly recommends this!  Buy it today:
