  • West Plays Tough in SOL Tournament

  • The West ladies started the day, bright and cheerful, and ended the day injured and sick.   The Team started Pool-play very well as they got out to a 8-0 record before meeting up with another undefeated team(Abington).    After splitting with Abington, the injured fingers, hands, and ankles started taking their toll.   Added to those injuries were illnesses with Jen and Julie, and suddenly the team seemed short on players.     The ladies fought hard and won their last match against Norristown, to end up with an 11-1 record and first place in the Pool.   The day was then extended for the very tired Buckettes as they were placed into the semi-finals against the eventual tournament winners from North Penn.    They again fought hard and came away with a 11-15,10-15 defeat. All-in-all a very successful day. (Nice job Ladies)   The next action is on Tuesday at West against Abington. 6:15/7:30 PM

(10/6/01)
  • West loses Match to a Sluggish Pennsbury Team

  • They normally dominate, but this night Pennsbury did not do much right, just enough to defeat the West Ladies.   Game one was won by Pennsbury after the ladies fought back to get within 11-14, the Referees determined that West had exceeded it's Substitution Maximum and awarded Pennsbury the Game point.    Game 2 Pennsbury dominated after West went out to a 5-0 lead.    Pennsbury won the second game 15-6.     The JV team lost their match in 2 games.   The next action is at the SOL Tournament today at Quakertown 8:00AM. • Ladies Look Tired in Loss to Truman

  • They normally take a while to get going, but on this night, despite Game 2, they just could not get it all together.   Game one with everyone contributing to the mistakes was a loss 6-15    Game 2, behind the strong serving of Meghan Sarao was a 15-0 blowout of the Tigers    Game 3 was more struggling and a 15-17 loss.     The JV team won their match in 2 games.   The next match is a change from Thursday to Friday evening at Pennsbury 6:15/7:30 PM (Directions)

  • Ladies Play their Best Match Yet

  • They took awhile getting started (Down 3-11), but they finally did as they tied the game up 12-12 before North Penn put the first game away 15-12   The second game was a real battle, no - probably a war as the West ladies stayed in the game the whole way.    They were behind almost all game and at 11-14 it looked like it was over, but West came back and won the game 16-14.    They looked like they were drained after that game and sure enough it was a rough third game in losing 6-15.     The JV team won their match in 2 games, in what was a pretty easy night for the young ladies.   The next match is Tuesday night at West against Truman 6:15 / 7:30 PM

(9/30/01)
  • Ladies Look Great in Win over Pennridge

  • The win over Neshaminy was good, but the win over Pennridge was Great.   The Ladies came out real slow in the first game losing something like 14-4, but they finally turned on the switch and scored 6 straight points before making the mistake that cost them the game 10-15.    The second game started where the first left off as the Ladies were dominant, playing as they have not played all season in winning 15-2.    They continued their great play in the third game winning 15-5.     The JV team won their match in 3 games to a tough Pennridge Team.   The next match is Monday night at North Penn 6:15 / 7:30 PM (Directions)

(9/26/01)
  • Ladies Pull Through with a Big Win over Neshaminy

  • West was Dr. Jekel/Mr. Hyde last night in a 3 game Win over Neshaminy.   The Ladies came out rocking as they convincingly defeated the Redskins 15-5.    The second game was the opposite as Neshaminy dominated West in a 15-9 victory.    West came out in the third game and hung on to win a close one 15-11.     The JV team lost their match in 3 games to a very tall Neshaminy Team.   The next match is Friday night at Pennridge 6:15 / 7:30 PM (Directions)

(9/25/01)
  • Ladies Don't Have Enough for Council Rock

  • West fell to a very Tall Council Rock team last night after keeping the first game close for what seemed like 15 minutes and a 5-4 score.   The Rock went on to dominate the rest of the game finishing a 15-6 victory.    The second game was even more promising as West went out to a 3-0 lead and hung in until they were down 8-10.    Rock went on to win the second game 15-8.     The JV team looked good, in winning a tough 3 game Match, in which the second and third games were very close   The next match is tonight at West against Neshaminy 6:15 / 7:30 PM

(9/14/01)
  • Ladies Put up a Nice Fight Against East

  • You thought it would not be close, with one of the best teams in the conference against, well- not one of the best.   The Ladies were winning in both games. After going down 0-4 in the first game they came back and took a 5-4 lead against the heavily favored Patriots.    It did not last however and East went on to win the first game 15-6.   The Ladies went on to play a terrific second game in which they led almost the entire game until East took a 14-11 lead, but the ladies were not done yet as they managed to tie up the game at 14, before East pulled it out 16-14.     The JV team looked great, in winning their match in two games 15-0 & 15-10   The next match is not until Monday Sept 24th at Coucil Rock 6:15 / 7:30 PM(Directions)

(9/11/01)

  • Ladies Look Better in Their Second Tournament

  • You like to think that a young team improves as the season goes along, and thats what it looked like on Saturday at the Coatsville Tournament.   The Ladies only won 1 game last Saturday, and won three this past weekend.    They were in a few of the other games and it just looks like they are starting to work together a little bit more than they had a week ago.    The Ladies next play on Tuesday afternoon at Abington 3:30 PM(Directions)   Please note:  Varsity will be playing at 3:30 with the JV Following.

(9/6/01)
  • Ladies Play a Carbon Copy of Tuesdays' Match

  • You like to think that every Match is different or unique, but Wednesdays' match against Mt. St. Joes was an exact duplicate of Tuesdays match against Pennsbury   The first game started with MSJ getting the lead and it looked like it was going to be a blowout, but the ladies came back behind the serving of Krista Eiser to take the lead in the game.   MSJ then came back to take the lead and win the game something like 15-7.   The second game was dominated by MSJ from the start and they went on to win 15-4    The Ladies next play on Saturday in a Tournament at Coatesville (Directions)

(9/5/01)
  • Ladies Give All They Had Against Pennsbury

  • The always tough Pennsbury Falcons came into town on Tuesday, and came away with a victory , but not before the Lady Bucks gave them a tough game.   The first game started with Pennsbury going up 5-2 and it looked like it was going to be a blowout, but the ladies came back behind the serving of Krista Eiser to take the lead 8-5.   Pennsbury then called a timeout and came back to take the lead and win the game 15-10.   The second game was dominated by Pennsbury from the start and they went on to win 15-4    The Ladies come right back with a Non-league match tonight at Mount St. Joes 6:15/7:30 PM (Directions)

(9/4/01)
  • Tough First Tournament Day for the Ladies

  • The Liberty Tournament is always a tough tournament since it is the first real games of the season, but the young Bucks had a learning experience on Saturday.   The day started by going 0-6 in the seeding Pool, before the afternoon playoff Pool, where the ladies started 0-4 before picking up their first victory against Holy Name.   Throughout the day there were some great plays made and some not-so-great plays as well.   The Girls will start anew tonight with their first regular season match against Pennsbury at West 6:15/7:30 PM   Bring your cheering section with you.

(8/31/01)

(8/29/01)
  • Ladies Second Scrimmage is also a Rollercoaster

  • The second scrimmage also was a rollercoaster, but not in the same way as the first scrimmage.   This one started and ended with big disappointments which sandwiched some very exciting Volleyball action.   The first disappointment was the fact that the opponent (Norristown) never showed up, and the ladies had to scrimmage against themselves.   After Andrea's JV team beat Krista's JV Team in 2 games, the Varsity ladies started play against coaches and several other players.    The ladies played very well and won the first 2 games and were leading in the third before the second disappointment.   The West ladies were really into the game diving and digging and hitting some really nice balls, when Nicole Rowe made an unbelievable save on a ball next to the stands.   Unfortunately, Nicole did not get up and somehow injured her knee.   Nicole, hope you get well soon !!   Next up for the ladies is a Tournament on Saturday at Liberty H.S.(Directions) ,   Please note: We still need volunteers for Snackbar duty. It really doesn't hurt !!

(8/22/01)
  • Ladies Scrimmage a Rollercoaster

  • The Pre-season got underway on Tuesday with Thud.   The first game was something like 13-0 PW before the West ladies got their feet on the ground.      They managed to come back and score 5 of the next 7 points.   Games 2 and three were a better showing as West won both games something like 15-10 and 15-12.   The JV Girls did exactly the opposite, winning their first game and losing the final two. It looked like they were having a good time playing what was probably the first organized games for some of them.  Next up for the ladies is Norristown at Home on Tuesday 8/28 , 6:15/7:30 PM  Please note: We still need volunteers for Snackbar duty.

  • The West Ladies held their Awards Banquet at the Plumsteadville Inn on Sunday 11/16/00 at 12:00 Noon with a Brunch Buffet. A good time was had by all. Jeff's Sermon was that while an 8-8 season may have been disappointing for some, he thanked the Seniors for bringing back more respect for the opponents. Towards the end of the game the Seniors came out of the game, so they could be recognized, and the turnover of CB West Volleyball to the underclassmen acknowledged. North Penn tied up the game and then proceeded to take the lead and win the game 15-10. In the second game the younger Ladies got some game action, and what a game it was, as it was close all the way. • Ladies Have a Relaxing Time at Bensalem

  • The West Girls played with a relaxed atomosphere on Tuesday evening and defeated the Bensalem Owls in two games. After Monday's tough emotional loss to Arch rival CB East this match was a welcomed relief. The Starters took care of business in the first game, except for a short 3 straight points by the Owls, West took it to them 15-4. The second game allowed Coach Wismer the opportunity to get some of the younger Girls some Varsity League action. The game went back and forth until late in the game when Bensalem took a 12-10 lead. West regrouped and held off the Owls to win the game 15-13. The next League match is a match against Council Rock on Thursday evening at CB West(6:15/7:30 PM).

In the second game nothing went right for the West Ladies who fell 6-15. The deciding game started out much the same as West went down 2-7, but they fought back, and managed to tie it at 10-10. • West Does Their Usual Saturday Thing

  • The West Girls played Saturday like they had the two previous Saturdays, a little slow to start but came on at the end. The West Ladies started the day going 0-6 in their first three matches in the 5 team Pool. With the top 4 teams moving on to the playoffs, it was important to win the last two games in Pool play to advance. They played well in two close games to win both and move on. The first playoff game was against Gettysburg one of only three teams which had defeated the girls in "Team Camp" this past summer. The West ladies took it to the Gettysburg team winning something like 15-9. This moved them into the semifinals of the Silver Bracket where they played their best Volleyball of the day, Digging, Passing, Hitting, and Blocking like they had never done, but they still fell in two close games 12-15,13-15. The next League match is a rescheduled match against CB East which will be played Monday Sept 18 at CB West (6:15/7:30 PM).

(9/13/00)

  • West Has a Better Tournament This Past Saturday

  • The West Girls played a little better in Saturday's Steel Spike Tournament, than they had last Saturday at the Liberty Tournament. After the first game(where they seemed asleep) the girls played well going 4-3 after the initial sleepwalking. The five Team Pool consisted of the Home school - Coatesville(1-1), Ridley(1-1), Cherryhill East(2-0), and Emmaus(0-2). West finished with a 4-4 record in a three way tie for second place and into a tie-breaking game for the second week in a row. Coatesville was the first Team up for the Bucks, a team it appeared earlier we could beat. The game went back and forth, and just as it looked like we were going ahead for good, the home team rallied to win the tie-breaking game and send our girls home. The next League match is this coming Tuesday(9/12) at CB West at 6:15/7:30 PM against Abington.

  • West Loses To Pennsbury in First League Match

  • The West Girls were a little inconsistent in losing their first league Match at Pennsbury Tuesday evening. The girls had a tough time of it in the early going as Pennsbury went out to a 7-1 lead. After a timeout West scored a few points to bring the game back to respectability at 7-5. Pennsbury then turned it on again and took an 11-5 lead. Then in an incredible run West ran off 8 straight points to take a 13-11 lead. This time it was Pennsbury who took a timeout and also responded with 4 straight to win the first game 15-13. West was obviously shaken by the loss and came out in the second game again down 7-1. They tried hard to bring the game back but could not in losing 5-15. Erin Cavanaugh had 9 kills and Krista Eiser served eight points to lead the Team. The next competition is Saturday at Coatesville High School(Directions) at 8:00 AM for an all-day Tournament.(Come support the Team). • West Ladies Have Up/Down Day in First Extended Action

  • The first Tournament of the Season got off to bad start as the Lady Bucks went 0-6 in their opening seeding Pool. Looking back on it, showed the three teams they played were pretty decent Teams.(Notre Dame, Freedom and Burnt Hill) The last place finish moved them into the Silver Division of the Tournament where things started to turn around. The girls went 3-3 in the Pool splitting with each Team. The last of the 3 Matches was against the eventual winner Carlisle and we had lost the first game. They had to win the last game to finish in a second place tie to enter the playoffs. With Carlisle looking like one of the best teams it looked like a tough task but the girls came through with a big win. This win put them into a tie-breaking playoff game against Tioga. The Ladies came up big again in defeating Tioga and entering the Semi-final playoffs against the tough foe Burnt Hill who had defeated the Bucks early in the morning. The single game elimination started off very badly for West as they found themselves in an 4-11 hole. West however, was not finished in the extreme heat and humidity, they fought back and tied the game and eventually win it 15-13. The big comeback put them into the Finals against Carlisle where the ladies just didn't have enough left in the tank and fell 6-15. So, a second place finish in the Silver bracket was good for a nice medalian and helped the girls feel good about themselves after a rocky start that morning. Nice job Ladies!! The first League match is this coming Tuesday(9/5) at Pennsbury HS at 6:15/7:30 PM. (Directions)

    (8/30/00)
