2001 CB West Boy's Volleyball Preview

CB West Boy's Volleyball Retools this season as 5 of the 6 starters from last year have graduated. Most of the guys expected to start did play together in the Indian Valley Club season over the Winter. The team does not look to be real tall but will probably play a very tough defensive game this coming season.

New players Joining the Varsity roster are:

The cog of this years team will be Scott Terry the only returning starter from last year who will continue his Setting duties. Scott performed well last year with an all senior team to lead West to a 13-6 record and a first time berth in the semifinals of the District. Scott's backup this year is Sophmore Brent Hartman who steps up from the JV team to fill that role and gain Varsity experience.

The middle this year will be manned by Matt Wurtenburger, Zach Brosius, Chad Corey, and Jarad Fonash. Someone out of the four Middles will have to step up to fill the shoes of Team MVP Kenny Eiser if West hopes to compete for a Conference title,

     The Outside hitters are Dave Schmoyer, Frank Sharp, and Jon Williams. Dave and Frank had some time on Varsity last year as Outside Hitters and played well. Jon played a couple games last year in the middle, but he looks good as he faces the position change this year.

Kelly Riegel joins the team this year as a Defensive specialist.

    With the experience these guys had in the Club season, this years team is expecting a good season. Having played in the new Conference last year gives familiararity with what the competition brings. West hopes to compete with teams such as Council Rock and North Penn for the Conference Title.
