2001 CB West Girl's Volleyball Team Preview CB West girls volleyball will be going through another rebuilding process after 5 of 6 Starters graduated from the 2000 season. After 6 starters graduated in 1999 and another 5 last year, it will be an almost all-new Team for the second year in a row for the West Ladies.
Coach Jeff Wismer will start his third season as the Bucks Head Coach after taking the 1999 squad to a Conference Title. West will compete this year with a very inexperienced squad, with Krista Eiser the only returnee with significant Varsity playing time. After having played in the middle for the last two seasons, Krista is moving to the "Outside", where she is hoping to get some better swings at the ball. Others competing for Outside hitter positions will be Nicole Kushman up from the JV team a year ago with some limited Varsity action. Andrea Radice will switch this year and become the Team's Defensive Specialist. She will be going into the back row to pass-up those serves and opponent's Kills. Taking over in the "Middle" for both Krista and Erin Cavanaugh will be a Trio of players Michelle Durning, Jen Quigley, and Kate McMurdo. All three players saw some Varsity action last year. Opposite side hitters will be Meghan Sarao. Meghan saw some Varsity time last year. For the second year in a row the Team will work with new Setters. This year's Setters will be Nicole Rowe and Megan Eiser. Nicole saw some time on Varsity last year, and Megan will try to make an impact on the team as a Freshman. Almost everyone of these ladies competed in Club Volleyball in the Off-season and they also went to Team Camp together. So with the amount of work they have put in during their time away from school ball, the team is expecting good things in a tough conference.
