Here you will find educative PowerPoint slideshows about speech sound disorders. There are shows on modelling, recasting, revisions and repairs and encouraging children who are reticent to say more. You can modify them to suit individual client needs.

Therapy Facts and Tricks!
A collection of child speech therapy techniques that may be useful when working with children with difficult-to-shift phonetically or phonemically based speech sound difficulties is contained on this page. Included are stimulability techniques, the aspiration trick for /f/, /s/ and 'sh, backward chaining for /k/, chaining for /k/, and techniques for "ch", /r/ and /l/.

The Butterfly Procedure
The butterfly procedure is a technique that SLPs/SLTs may find successful in working on lateral and palatal fricative distortions, particularly "lateral s" and "lateral z". It begins with the butterfly position and can be used with children (from the age of about three), adolescents and adults.
The Quick Screener
Here is a child speech screening assessment procedure, presented as a PowerPoint show, with a form for SLPs/SLTs and a form for teachers, as well as three slideshows that SLPs/SLTs may find useful in describing to teachers how to use the screener.

The Fixed-up-One Routine
As adult speakers we continually make little mistakes when we speak. We barely notice these mistakes at a conscious level, but quickly correct ourselves, and go on with what we are saying. Many children with speech sound disorders are generally not very good at self-correcting. They seem to find it difficult to listen to themselves critically in order to monitor their speech and make any necessary revisions and repairs. Here is a technique that may help.Word Lists
