Welcome to our home on the web.

Chapter C, located in Monroe, Michigan, is part of Region D which includes chapters in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana.

Chapter C, the Monroe Floral City Wings, was organized in early spring of 1982.

Located about thirty minutes south of Detroit, MI, and fifteen minutes north of Toledo, OH, Monroe is known for the flowering Lotus beds in the area.

The fledgling chapter of eighteen years ago now has forty-six members and twenty-six associates. Each April we celebrate the anniversary of the chapter with a party that includes an auction to help raise funds. Members bring a 'surprise' (wrapped in newspaper) to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Needless to say, we have had many useful, hilarious, and sometimes slightly outrageous items!

Chapter C was the first chapter in Michigan to organize a lottery with monthly drawings to raise money. This event, along with our fun run, has proven to benefit our charity donations and to keep the chapter running.

We have made contributions to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) for several years. During the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, we 'adopt' families in need of financial help, clothing, and presents from Santa.

Volunteering and participation are vital in G.W.R.R.A. and Monroe’s Floral City Wings are alive and well in that department! Members are encouraged to write an article for the newsletter, recruit new members, plan a ride or a chapter event, and most of all, to enjoy being together and riding their Goldwings!

Breakfast business meetings are held at D.J.’s County Kitchen on the corner of South Dixie Highway and Dunbar Road in Monroe on the second Sunday of every month. Visitors are always welcome!

During the riding season, Chapter C meets every Wednesday at Blockbusters in Monroe to ride to dinner. Sundays finds us rinding to fun runs, special events, or just meeting for breakfast and taking a scenic ride for the day.

During the late fall, winder and early spring, we meet for dinner the first and third Wednesdays of the month and the fourth Sunday

We have a dedicated staff who do their best to offer a variety of rides and activities for the members and their families.

Couple of the Year

Bob and Midge Hollister are the Couple of the Year for Chapter C of Michigan. They served the Chapter as Newsletter Editors for five years and recently turned the task over to Mike and Marissa Toth.

Bob joined the Chapter in 1988 and Midge became a member in 1994 when they were married. He owned his own hardware store for twenty-four years and is currently an employee of Midway Products in Allen Park as a "shop engineer." Midge is Administrative Secretary at St. Paul Lutheran Church is Trenton.

They enjoy their 1994 GoldWing Trike and have taken many trips with their bike and camper. As far as Bob and Midge are concerned traveling on their GoldWing is the best way to see the sights and meet nice people.

As Chapter C's Couple of the Year they hope to visit many other groups and favorably represent the Chapter to all they come in contact with. Chapter C is made up of special people and we're like a family. The Hollisters consider it a great honor to represent such a great group of folks!
