For the Veterans
You can gain a complete list of what's changed at this
site. But here are a few things that you'll notice.
- Trade Wars 2002 v 3.05
- The network is fully supported, and multiple players can be on at once.
- Turns determine the actual speed at which the ship warps from one sector
to another. Currently, this is set at one second for every three turns per warp.
The advantage of this is that it does give smaller ships such as a scout marauder
to run from larger ships and Ferrengi. But remember folks, slow or not, an interdictor is still
an interdictor.
- Multiple photon blasts. You can shoot numerous missles into a sector with
overlapping wave durration.
- Universal commands. You can use these anywhere, Stardock, on planets, floating
in space, anywhere. They allow you to communicate with online players and do a
quick (i)nfo check.
- The univeral commands are configurable through the personal menu (n) at the
computer menu.
- Navpionts are also an interesting new feature. This allows you to log certain
sectors that you wish to remember. Stardock and Terra are automaticly logged.
Use the (y) command to create the log, and (n) to use it.
- A "backtrack" command has been added. Hit (<) to return to the sector
from which you left. This is great if you're hitting two ports for rapid trading.
- There is a slight problem with the Aliens editor in Tedit, but I have personally
reported this bug and Martech Inc. will be realeasing TW2002 v 3.06 soon.
- E-mail mfraley@olivet.edu for request of further system or game stats, or
additional commands.
