As a child, her days were filled with unorganized ball games, little dolls, ridiculous skating stunts, diving meets, or just a leisurely repose on the boulders that lined the sea near her home.
As an adult, she worked as a clerk typist for eleven years while nurturing her musical abilities. Her love for singing availed an opportunity to perform for no pay in small, hidden places. Strong therapeutic values emerged from the music that buried every woe encountered on any given day.
Soon
after her first son was born, she entered the exciting world of
pipe-fitting where she worked well within the midst of submarine
construction. She continued this line of work for the next twenty
two years. It was a unique world in which each aspect of the job
took her to every corner of the shipyard, surpassing any thoughts of
sitting behind a desk on a sunny, spring day. She learned her
craft handily where precision was her game in the wake of arduous
ceremony and cagey inspectors.
Her two sons are the loves of her life and a source of inspiration behind numerous endeavors. She has been a single mom for most of the boys' lives. She juggled child rearing with learning the writing trade, completing a correspondence course in children's literature and maintaining an "A" average in two college English Literature courses.
She
created a small collection of poetry while her studies pointed her in
the direction of nonfiction exposé but fiction became her special
endeavor.
She
gets lost in the story-telling and as she puts it: "I worry, I cry,
I laugh, I yell, I whisper, and I move with the characters, all of whom
remain busy in my head as I commit them to paper. It is a
joy!"
