All Saints

A drawing of All Saints by MU member Mrs E. Butler

Mothers' Union is specially concerned with all that strengthens and preserves marriage and Christian family life. Its AIM is the advancement of the Christian religion in the sphere of marriage and family life.

ITS FIVE OBJECTS ARE:

To uphold Christ's teaching on the nature of marriage and to promote its wider understanding;

To encourage parents to bring up their children in the faith and life of the Church;

To maintain a world-wide fellowship of Christians united in prayer, worship and service;

To promote conditions in society favourable to stable family life and the protection of children;

To help those whose family life has met with adversity.

This is the Waltham branch in the deanery of Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Haverstoe. We are in the diocese of Lincoln, U.K. We currently have 28 members and 2 IMPC members and we hold two meetings a month - one in an afternoon and one in an evening. Most of the senior ladies attend the afternoon session but we have a mixed age range at both sessions. The feeling of fellowship is strong and we are all very supportive of one another. We are a thriving branch and are always looking at ways to move forward. We are very involved in parish mission such as sick visiting, baptism visiting and a parenting course which was very successful. Our latest project has involved raising funds for a new banner, which has now been designed, and the handiwork will soon be completed. We would love to make contact with any other MU out there and look forward to hearing from you or anyone else interested in our organisation.
