Pachino, located on the most southern tip of Sicily, was founded in 1760 by Principe Gaetano Starrabba and his brother Vincenzo the Marchese of Rudini`. Pachino now has about 25,000 inhabitants, a population kept low by a history of immigration. There are about 12,000 people living in the Greater Toronto who can say that they were born in Pachino or are sons and daughters of Pachinesi.
