This is Seashell, the second pony I ever got. I remember getting her
quite vividly (so I'd really like her MOC). She's not in as good condition as
Applejack, her hair is a bit frizzy and she has tail rust and moldy insides, but I guess
that's because her name implied she was a water pony, so I played with her in water. |
| This here is the much loved Gusty. I love her in the movie, she's
such a bitch hehe. Anyway, I recently discovered she's an anomaly (look it up) among
ponies. The US Gusty had glittery symbols and aqua eyes, the UK Non-So-Soft Gusty
had metallic symbols and green eyes. MY Gusty has glittery symbols and green eyes! |

This is the second shelf in my main pony cupboard. I'll get photos
of the other two shelves eventually. I like the mirror at the back, makes it look
like I have twice as many ponies. Front and center you'll see my 5 TAF babies
*gloat* :) Next to them is UK Melody and Roller Skate Hip-Hop, on the far right is
UK Newborn Sunset. You can also see my mail order Sunspot and Twinkler in this shot,
along with Chumster the bushwoolie and Duck Soup, Twinkles and Brandy on the top shelf. |
| My cupboard and shelves are jam packed so a few ponies migrated to the
sewing table in the pony room temporarily. Yay, there's a Dream Beauty up the back
and my first 2 flutters! The talkie pony also works. The Christmas baby is
quite rare here in Australia seeing we don't get Rice Krispies here, I got her in a trade.
(actually the majority of the ponies here are from trades) |

|
And here are the shelves. A few things to note - On top of the
wardrobe there's my original Baby Buggy and Show Stable. On the top shelf, my
original Waterfall, Mami Sunbright (the yellow and unfortunately hairless pony in the
middle), my set of collector ponies, 5 jigsaw puzzles (I intend to frame these and put
them up around the room) and in front of the new pony playsets there's the Pony Tails
(Applejack and Posey). UK Love-In-A-Mist is far left on the second shelf. Two
Applejack sun catchers are hanging from the bottom shelf. The plate is one I made
back in 1989. I traced the picture of Baby Tiddly-Winks but back then I didn't know
what pony she was, so she's coloured in wrong. The McDonald's ponies are also rare
here in Oz because the promotion didn't happen here. |
| My four plushies. All these guys have icky hair and scratched eyes
because the op-shops chuck them in the washing machine before they're sold. This
mucks up the hair and the rubbing against things must wreck the eyes. These guys are
Cotton Candy, Blossom, Bow Tie and Glory. Just for the record, Cotton Candy cost $7
from an op-shop that's caught onto the pony thing and now charges stupid prices.
Glory was just $1 from a small op-shop that wouldn't know better. |

This was taken just before I went off to an 80's party. (I used to
wear this gear normally!) I took Firefly, Baby Surprise and Parasol along with me
and wore my Watchimal (remember those??). Needless to say I freaked out everyone,
but not as much as the guy who wore a New Kids On The Block T-shirt. |
| This is a slumber party I had once (my 13th I think). I've included
the pic just to show the proliferation of ponies sitting in my room. |

|

|
After that last pic a wave of lunacy hit me and I pulled this stupid face.
Anyways, it shows a few more ponies in the nursery Pop built me. (He also
built me a large stable in the same style, my cousins both got doll houses but he altered
mine to make a stable :) |
| I'd seen the Show Stable in pamphlets but never in stores so I assumed you
couldn't get it in Australia. So naturally I was ecstatic when I opened this present
from Nan and Pop. |

|

|
After getting the Show Stable my next present must have been that Sweet
Secrets playset I still have somewhere, going by the package I see. Anyways, what
I'm opening here is Beddie-Bye-Eyed Baby Lickety Split (look closely, I have an eye for
detail and a good memory). |
| This is probably boxing day, showing off all the pressies I got for that
Christmas (in '86) and my pony collection at the time. Yes, that is UK Snowflake in
the stable yard with Gusty. I'm holding my ever beloved B-Bear, a crochet teddy made
by an aunt which I got for my first Christmas. I used to take that bear everywhere
but now she stays safely at home, it would break my heart to lose her or have her ruined. |

|

|
This would be Christmas 1985. That's Baby Surprise I'm tearing into
:) You can see a pamphlet opened on the bed too. I had a neat collection of
Golden Books back then. This is at my old house, where I had to share a room with my
sister. |
| And here's my pony collection at the time. The Pretty Parlour, a
couple of outfits, some stamps, a sun-catcher and a handful of ponies. If you look
closely you'll notice a lot of the stickers on the bedhead are from pony packets (I
managed to save most of these when we moved!) |

|

|
My cousins used to visit every Monday when I was little. He loved
He-Mans and I loved Ponies. My Auntie once handed me a bag and quipped "I found
this and thought you might like it." Boy did I like it, the Waterfall was
another set I figured wasn't available in Australia (amazing, even back then I had an idea
of the country's isolation hehe). The great thing about this pic is that you can't
see anyone's faces. |
| This pic probably only makes sense to me. My mum and dad's workplace
used to hold a "Christmas Tree" every year. There were rides and lollies
and treasure hunts and all the kids would get a present. A few years later I would
get Buzzer at one of these but this year I got Whizzer, you can't really see her in this
pic because I'm holding her in my other hand and looking at her comb. Russell is
playing with his new Transformer and Bree is playing with Galaxy, who was her present. |

|

|
My parents were also involved with Scouts and therefore Scout Camps.
This is at one at Gingin I think. I have my ponies in the back of the good
ol' Tarago. I'm holding Shady and that blue thing is the Pretty Parlour. I
have a feeling that orange lump near me may be Applejack. |
| This photo isn't for the fainted hearted. I've found some hideous
fakies in my time but these two take the cake. These things scare ME and they're
meant to be kids toys?? The one with wool hair glows in the dark. Look at it's
eye, it's just so *evil*. But at least it has a normal mane and tail. As for
the other one, whoever rooted the hair on the thing must have been one drugs, since when
does a horse have hair along it's back or in front of it's ears?? There are multiple
rows of hair on both the back and head. Freaky stuff... |
