PERFORMANCE

When all the world slumbers in monotone,
I hear the curtains rise.
We sat on the veranda and the queen mother was
delighted,
and we smoked cigarettes one after the other.
Cameo appearances...who was that?
I have been hugely successful in this career.
Will I ever tire?
I don't know - ask them...
Vermooth clears the conscience
And she quiets herself. On to business at hand.
Over full of suggestions and not knowing the
words;
So far a smash hit...
Mind-boggling! Breathtaking! Should I buy a new
dress?
No screaming this time. I must deliver!
The audience was talking to who - and now to
whom?
Reclusive - rarely seen in public - just one
final trip...
One new window into the house and up into bed;
An eternal rest;
A delightful malady.
