When not out on missions, it is imperitive that the Road Rovers are able to keep a low profile and keep the location of their base a closely guarded secret. With this in mind, the transportation of food, clothing, and other items needed for day-to-day life becomes a problem. Retrieving these supplies in either an aircraft or a Street Rover car is conspicious. Having a delivery service bring the supplies would defeat the purpose of keeping the location of RRMC a secret. Therefore it was decided by the Master, that the Road Rovers would convert a standard highway truck for this purpose...

Where as the Master was looking at buying a brand new rig for use by the Rovers, DJ's interest was struck by a worn out old Mack he saw for sale in a "Truck Trader" ad. After convincing the Master that people would be less likely to suspect a 30 year old truck as a Road Rover vehicle, the Mack was purchased and work began...

Over the course of a month, DJ, Hope, and the rest of the Rover maintainance staff completely gutted and refitted the Mack with a brand new engine, transmission, a GPS system, and radio communications. Although now able to tie in with the Road Rovers communication network, DJ insisted that a conventional CB radio be fitted to the truck as well...

Designated the "Diesel Rover", the truck has been continiously used by the Rovers as a general purpose workhorse. While it pulls a plain, unmarked semi trailer when transporting supplies, the Diesel Rover will occaisionaly haul a custom Road Rover trailer for the purpose of participating in parades and other public relations events. The "Diesel Rover" is also capable of pulling the new MRHQ (Mobile Rover Head Quarters) trailer, should the need ever arise. NOT to be used as a combat vehicle, the "Diesel Rover" carries no hidden weapons or ultra high tech features. Despite the modernized mechanical components, the truck remains just what it looks like... a truck.
