Brother Wolf

I heard a voice calling to me...
From I know not where...
But as I turned..
I saw him standing there...

He spoke to me in words...
That touched my heart..
And asked me to play a part..
Delivering them to the world..
I said I would..
And then he disapeared ..
Into the wood...

He returns every now and then..
To give me words...
To pass on to a friend..

Who is this...
That passes on such great words?
He is Wolf!
He is my Brother of the Heart!
He is Brother Wolf!

This is a very Special poem he wrote for me...

Our Mother, Earth is shedding tears
Which falls on us as rain.
She begs and pleads in many ways
To love and ease her pain.

The fear she holds for all of us
Is shown and oh, so clear.
But yet some go their heedless way
As though they cannot hear.

Our Mother, Earth has been misused
By those who do not care
That when she falls so gravely ill
We shall know despair.

For she must drink and breathe and be
Sustained as you and I.
And all her children listen as
She kneels down to cry.

Oh Spirit, Wolf, please guide us.
Help us see what we must do.
To go from dark to light, and then
Forever follow you.

  There is someone among us,
To hear you and to know.
A Cherokee-my sister.
She is Dakotasnow.

Thank you Brother Wolf.. for these Beautiful words
and I am passing them on!!
Here is the first poem that Brother Wolf
sent to me...
Wolf
By Dick Buckingham
It has been said by wiser men
That when the beasts are gone,
The lonliness that's left behind
Will do away with dawn.

  Men fear thee Wolf
But I don't ask - I know.
It's not your fierceness felt by them
But the beauty which you sow.

It grows within our hearts and mind
to threaten those of us,
Who cannot seem to find the way
To love, and to be kind.

So if you go forever Wolf,
Please take me with you then.
I need to be with yours and you
and not these selfish men.

A new Poem from Brother Wolf

  Spirit

Deep within the woods I sit
I search among the trees
I hear a rustling here- and there
Carried by the breeze

  Tho dark within the forest
I don't feel any fear
And then I know my Spirit
Is hovering with me here

I look to see a wisp of mist
and see it go away
But just before it leaves me
I listen to it say

I've come into your life my friend
To live within your heart
To tell you all the things I know
And that never - will we part

Our lives are joined by powers
Sent down from high above
And my white coat and Spirit
Offer everlasting love

The People

A Forest rife with towering trees
Ends close upon a shore
To watch and guard The people
Who have gathered here before

Words which traveled on the wind
They came from distant drums
To summon them together
This band of ancient ones.

  Elders, Shaman, leaders all
With common goal in mind
To listen to the spirits
And know that they must find

A way to tell the nations
Of the dangers which we face
If all the Great One's creatures
Shall vanish from this place

And while they sit in silence
A vision fills the door
The wolf speaks to them clearly
Words too somber to ignore.

All living things upon this land
Forever more entwined
Depend upon their brother - Wolf
To change the state of mind

That earth belongs to us to use
And taint without a thought
To how it will sustain us
Though ruin we have wrought

The vision - Wolf then faded
As though it were never there
The ancient one's then chanted
A strain of great despair

  Their teaching has transcended time
And shown us of it's worth
That in the end all creatures know
That they belong to Earth

Eternal Hope
A mountainside - a mist hangs low
A ghostlike form appears
To move among the shadows
And as we watch, it nears

It moves like water in a stream
It glides with fluid grace
Watching, listening, reading signs
Which only it can place

A scent is brought on changing winds
It reaches him with force
He knows that soon a life will end
But yet, feels no remorse

For in his world it has been taught
For generations here
That while a life ends - one goes on
There is no need for tears

The weak, the frail sustain the strong
So that all may survive
This credo from Great Spirits sent
Will keep the earth alive

Within this scene before us spread
There is no loss or waste
The wolf knows well this lesson taught
He knows it must be faced

If water, land and creatures all
Endure and then remain
Life will go on and then be free
To build itself again

  A never-ending cycle is
Portrayed upon this slope
Our totem and our brother
Offers us eternal hope

That if we pause and ponder now
Then we will surely know
That we must move together
And carefully choose which seeds we sow
