Here you'll find information on how to use all important aspects of our service.
There are several ways to find your connection at Alternative Connections. You can browse ad headlines, find a match, or search for specific ads.
To browse ad headlines select Search from the Navigation Bar at the top of every page. Select the Category you wish to browse, such as I am a man seeking a woman. To browse, select one or two broad characteristics to search by, such as Geographic Region. After selecting GO, you will be asked further questions, such as Which country or state? We will return a list of headlines, fifty headlines at a time. Select a headline that interests you to view the ad.
To find a match (search for ads with specific qualities), select Search from the Navigation Bar on the side of every page. You want to be very specific. Select all of the General Characteristics and select GO. We will then ask you several questions to help you find specifically who you're looking for. For example, you could search for very tall, slim, heterosexual, non-smoking, Asian men between the ages of 32 and 33 who live in Dayton, Ohio and don't have children. We will return a list of headlines that match your selections. If your selection list is too narrow, you will not receive any headlines. If we return more than fifty, your search may be too broad.
To find a specific ad, select Search from the Navigation Bar on the side of every page. Use the form at the bottom of that page. You must know the Mailbox number of the ad. Type it in, and select GO. Many people use this option to review an they've placed.
It's easy to place an ad, and it's free. Select Place a Free Ad from the navigation bar at the top of every page. Begin by selecting I want to create a new ad. Enter you e-mail address twice (we require this for accuracy, because we will be forwarding responses to your ad to your e-mail address). Select CONTINUE, and on the following page, fill out the simple, yet elegant form to finish. Make sure you fill out all of the required information and whichever optional questions you want to answer. After you submit it, it will be reviewed by our ad readers (each has a Doctorate of Ad Screening). Our goal is to place your ad within 48 hours of your posting.
The more attention-grabbing your headline and interesting your ad, the more responses you'll receive. Even though we ask you specific questions about yourself, the most important part of your ad is what you say about yourself.
How you will be notified of responses to your ad
Any and all responses to the ad you placed will be forwarded to you, so make sure your e-mail address is entered correctly when you fill out the place ad form.
When you find an ad that you'd like to respond to, simply choose Respond to this Ad or join from the ad page. Be sure to note the mailbox number of the ad if you must register to become a new member.
Or, you can choose Join the Club or Respond to an Ad in the navigation bar on the side of every page. You can respond to ads only if you have a Premier Pass. Go to Join the Club for more information.
Our advice for responding to an ad is the same for placing an ad. Be yourself. Be interesting. Show them you are the one they are looking for.
What is a Premier Pass?
The Premier Pass is your pass into the members-ony part of our site. As a member , you can respond to as many messages as you wish. Only Premier Pass holders can respond to ads. There are a lot of interesting people in this world ...
Simply select Join in the navigation bar at the top of every page. Or you are given the option to join on the ad page. At the bottom and top of the page will be a selection that reads, Join .
The Premier Pass is very inexpensive. We offer several easy payment options. Use your credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express), and pay by internet, fax or phone. You can use a personal check and pay by internet or by mail.
How much is this going to cost?
Not much. In order to respond to ads, purchase your Premier Pass.
A one month membership is $14.95. (You get a guaranteed renewal rate of $14.95/month)
A three month membership is $34.95. (You get a guaranteed renewal rate of $11.95/month after expiration of the initial membership.)
A six month membership is $54.95 (You get a guaranteed renewal rate of $9.95/month after expiration of the initial membership.)
A one year membership is $79.95 (You get a guaranteed renewal rate of $6.65/month after expiration of the initial membership.)How to cancel your Premier Pass
We would hate to see you go, but if you wish to cancel your Premier Pass, e-mail us, write Cancel my Premier Pass membership, and will will send you a confirmation of your cancellation. You can also call us toll-free in the U.S. 1 (800) 773-8003 option #1 or direct at 214-818-0321 option #1.
How to change your ad after you've placed it
You might think of something you forgot to say or want to say it differently. Select Place a free Ad from the navigation bar on the side of every page, and select I want to change my ad. Enter your e-mail address (twice for accuracy), and we will return with your current ad. You may change any information there.
Obviously, you can also delete your ad by selecting I want delete my ad on the same page.
What's this Agent of Love thing?
The Agent of Love, technically, is a bot or spider that continually searches our database for ads that meet certain requirements that you choose when you sign up for the free service. When the Agent finds those ads, it will e-mail them to you.
For example, if you want only ads placed by men who live in the Falkland Islands and are between the ages of 30 and 39, the Agent will search the database, keeping an eye out for new ads. When it finds an ad posted by a Falkland Islands man between the ages of 30 and 39, it will e-mail the headline and the ad to you and give you the opportunity to respond.
How much easier can finding your alternative connection be?
If you ever want to change your personal Agent, select Agent of Love from the navigation bar on the side of every page. Select I want to change my profile, enter your email address (twice), and select CONTINUE. We will return with your current profile, which you may then change.
Select the Write Us icon that is at the left side of every page.
