1. Do they bite ? It depends on the socialization process and their parents reputation for biting but in general you're 10% less likely the been bitten by a rat than ANY other rodent.
2. I found what I think is a rat or possibly a hamster. It is very tame and I have a cage for but I am scared to pick it up. Could you tell me if it is a rat or a hamster?
If it is 5 to 12 iches long not including tail it is probably a rat. If it is under 5 inches it's probably a hamster.
