Myth
Here's
a little and I mean "a little" of the Greek myth of pegasus.The winged
horse of the gods of the Greeks and of the Muses,was born from the head
of Medusa when it was severed by Perseus.Another version states that pegasus
was fathered by Medusa and Poseidon.Pegasus
went up to Olympus and carried thunder and lightning for Zeus.He
was caught by Bellerophon at a well with a special golden bridle,but when
Bellerophon became too proud of his conquest of the Chimaera and
the Amazons and tried to ride up to heaven,Pegasus,stung by a fly sent
from Zeus,threw him off.The inspiration of the
Muses came from the spring called Hippocrene on Mount Helicon, which first
flowed when Pegasus kicked the
ground with his hoof.Pegasus eventually became the
constellation below:
