Jack: Armor of Storms (compassion)

Background: Jack is the youngest member of either the Ronins or the Sentinels.  His parents were both U.S. citizens of Indian descent who adopted Jack from an orphanage in India when he was a baby.  The family moved to Japan when he was eleven after his father accepted a prestigious position at a medical research lab in Tokyo.  Jack adjusted easily to the changes.  He had two loving parents and lots of friends.  He was an average student with an easy nature and charm.  But his whole world soon changed.

Jack began to have terrifying dreams of being chased by someone evil, someone determined to capture him and destroy anyone who got in his way.  This monster called himself the Lord of Storms and he was the mirror image of Jack.  Jack soon learned how real his nightmares were when the evil twin from his dreams burned down his house with lighting bolts, killing Jack’s parents.  Jack went on the run, the Lord of Storms always one step behind him.  Then he met the Sentinels and Ronins.  They convinced him they could help.  They all went to a secret mountain encampment once used by Talpa to confront Jack’s evil twin.  Jack now lives at Mia’s house with several of the other Sentinels.

(I’m going to leave it at that because I don’t want to ruin the ending of SW3: Lord Of Storms)

Good Traits: True to his attribute, Jack is a compassionate person.  While he was being hunted by the Lord of Storms, he refused to ask for help from anyone because he worried that others would get hurt on his account.  He only stayed at Mia’s because he was too tired to run anymore and Mia had convinced him they could protect him for a time.  Jack is also a young man with strong will-power.  He is constantly aware of the grave responsibility that comes with the awesome power that he wields and must control.

Bad Traits: Jack is prone to unexpected mood swings and depression because of the evil Dynasty magic that taints his armor.  He will become confrontational and then turn moody and quiet.  His armor often responds to his emotional state, which can be hazardous to those around him.  Jack would never forgive himself if he hurt one of the others—perhaps even becoming suicidal.  He works twice as hard as the others to learn not only how to use his armor, but also how to not use it.  He also tends to not socialize much.  The only ones he seems to have made any connections with are the former Dark Warlords—especially Anubis and Kale.  This is not surprising since they understand better than anyone what it’s like to be touched by Talpa’s evil.

Abilities: Jack wears the Armor of Storms—a dark blue armor with silver trim.  His weapon is a large “T” shaped hammer that returns when thrown (yes, I was inspired by the hammer Thor wields in the Avengers comic book).  With his sure-kill of “Deathstorm Strike”, Jack can call up furious storms of torrential rain and lightning.  He can allow the lightning to run rampant or he can direct it at specific targets.  Like the other Sentinels, he can use the powers of his armor to a much lesser degree even when not suited up.  This is very tiring and requires greater concentration.  The Ancients began the creation of the armor, but Talpa got his hands on it and finished forging it.  As a result, it is tainted with evil and subtly influences Jack’s moods in negative ways.

I like how this picture came out for the most part. I admit I traced the body outline from a picture--but the detail work, shading, color, facial features, hair, and the lightning bolt and crackling around the hand are mine. Jack is supposed to be younger than the others, but in this picture, he ended up looking even younger than I imagined. Hmmm.
