Charisma Carpenter was discovered when fate intervened whilst she was working as a waitress in Los Angeles to save for her college education. She was seen by a commercial agent and appeared in more than 20 commercials including one for antiperspirant, which ran in the US for 2 years.

Her first major television appearance was a role on "Baywatch", after which she auditioned for Aaron Spelling and was given a place on a series called "Malibu Shores".

She was born in Las Vegas from the age of 15 was moved to Mexico so she could attend various acting classes. After graduating from high school, she moved to Europe and then returned and moved to San Diego where she took various jobs including working in a video store and teaching aerobics, and the one which finally led to her acting career- waiting tables.

When she isn't filming for Buffy she enjoys hiking, roller blading, sky diving and cooking, and also dancing, having formerly been a cheerleader.
