East Liverpool, for the past 150 years, has enjoyed
the distinction of being the Pottery Capital of the World. Since the mid
eighteen hundreds when suitable clay was discovered in the area more than
200 pottery factories were started in the city.
Situated in the heart of the tri-state area,
where Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio share the shores of the mighty
Ohio River, East Liverpool can be reached by car or motor coach in less
than 40 minutes from Pittsburgh, and just an hour's drive from Akron, Canton,
Warren, Youngstown, Ohio, Wheeling, West Virginia, Beaver Valley and Washington,
Pennsylvania.
Within minutes of downtown, visitors can
enjoy museums, potteries, horse racing and video gaming, historic buildings,
restored mansions, dining, boating, water skiing, jet skiing, fishing,
sightseeing and camping in several area parks.
