A SLAP IN THE FACE IN SFO??

(updated 21 January 00)

After Working many Years
With Air Canada

SFO, Customer Service Agent
Mike Taylor Had To Move
To A State That Air Canada
Did Not Service.

Mike's Only Option Was
To Resign From Air Canada.

In Accordance With The
Collective Bargaining
Agreement....

Mike Gave His Proper
2 Week Notice To The Company.

Mike Advises Me That He
Even Received A Letter
Of Recommendation From
His Manager Stating What
A Good Employee He Was
While Working For
Air Canada.

WELL....

Mike Has Moved Back To
SFO And Applied For A
Position With Air Canada

(At The Time Of His
Application..There Were
Openings In SFO)

The Company Has Denied
Mike's Application For
Employment!!

The Reason Given To Mike
By The Company Is....

It Is Air Canada's Policy
Not To Re-Hire Employees
That Have Quit.

THIS IS A BOGUS REASON!!

I Personally Know Of One
Agent Who Resigned From
Air Canada And Was
Welcomed Back With
OPEN ARMS
When She Re-Applied
For A Job.

17 Agents In SFO Have Written
To Human Resources Requesting
That Air Canada Reconsider
Their Position And Hire Mike
Back!!

(I Have Copies Of These Letters)

Mike Was An EXCELLENT Agent!!

And His Devotion and Loyalty
To Air Canada Should Be
Enough To Have Him
RE-HIRED!!!

As A Personal Friend Of
Mike's....

I Know That He Was and Is
A Very UNION MINDED Person.

Mike Does Not Back Down When
He Sees The Company Violating
The Contract,

He Is Not Afraid To Stand Up
For His Rights and The Rights
Of Others.

His Name Is Known
"Up In Canada"

I Hope That Mike's

"Outspoken Personality"

Has Nothing To Do With
The Company's Refusal To
Re-Hire Him!!!!!

Mike Knows That The Company
Has No Obligation To Re-Hire
Him....

He Wants The Company
To Be Up Front and Tell Him
THE TRUTH As To Why They Will
Not Re-Hire Him.

I Personally Feel That The
Company Is Missing A

GREAT OPPORTUNITY

To Hire A Person That:

Needs No Training..
Knows Air Canada..
Is Well Respected By His Peers..
AND
Is A Proven Asset To The Company..

I HOPE AIR CANADA RECONSIDERS THEIR POSITION AND RE-HIRES
MIKE TAYLOR.

TIME TO HAVE THE COMPANY MAKE GOOD ON DOMESTIC-PARTNER BENEFITS

(updated 21 January 00)

In the middle of trying
to Negotiate
DOMESTIC-PARTNER BENEFITS
into OUR Agreement.

I was advised by a Member
of The Union Negotiating
Committee to
"DROP" The Proposal.

It was explained to me
that there was no need to
Discuss this Proposal,
because The Company was

GOING TO OFFER THIS
BENEFIT TO ALL U.S.
EMPLOYEES!!

This fact was ALSO
conveyed to me by a
member of the Company's
Negotiating Committee.

I feel that ....

WE NEED TO LET THE
COMPANY KNOW THAT
WE WANT THEM TO MAKE
GOOD ON THEIR PROMISE!!

THIS IS A BENEFIT
THAT IS LONG OVERDUE.

Please Leave Your
Thoughts/Comments/Opinions
On This Matter
In "THE FORUM"

"FORCED" OVERTIME !!

(updated 21 Jan. 00)

I have received MANY CALLS
from other stations regarding
Management "Forcing" Agents
to work past OR before
their "SCHEDULED" shifts.

(Being a Reservations Agent
who has not seen O.T. in years)

This is all pretty new to me.

I ask that ALL Agents who are affected by this to...

PLEASE ENTER YOUR COMMENTS IN THE ABOVE FORUM..

By all of us working TOGETHER
I am sure we can come up with some answers to your problems!!
