On January 27, 2001, eight of our Lodge Brothers participated in the Polar Bear Plunge to benefit Special Olympics of Kentucky. We donated $500.00 to Special Olympics for the "privilege" of jumping into an ice freezing pool on a very cold day. Talk about getting your heart pumping! Check out the "sound bites" at the bottom of the page.

Everyone arrives for their dip in the pool. From left to right, Brothers Steven Caudill, Chad Burkhart, Mike Wattenberger, Johnny Graves. Brother Kevin Winebrenner can just be seen in the background. Also in the photo are Stephanie, Shelby and Casey Caudill. With his back to the camera is Brother Ken Donta.

The Official Line-Up. From left to right are Brothers Mike Wattenberger, Keith Mullikin, Johnny Graves, Steven Caudill, Kevin Wilson, Kevin Winebrenner, Arlen Horton and Chad Burkhart. See the smiles on their faces? If they only knew.

Anxiously waiting their turn.

And the big moment arrives. Brave Brothers Kevin Winebrenner, Keith Mullikin and Johnny Graves are ready to "take the plunge".

And now they know! It took them longer to jump in than it did to get out.

Innocent Brothers Kevin Wilson and Mike Wattenberger take their turn.

Brothers Arlen Horton and Steven Caudill make their way out after their jump.

After all was said and done (and believe me, a lot was said about jumping into cold water on a very cold day) everyone survived to tell the tale.
