How many of you have ever heard the phrase "idle hands are the devil's workshop"? Do you know what that means?
Are you unemployed or
under-employed? Are you completely without employment?
Do you sit just waiting for the right job to appear?
Are you looking for jobs that are completely different
from your experiences? Are you qualified for something
completely different than what you're doing?
Are you
afraid of speaking about this to anyone, especially your employer?
Let me tell you about
how the Lord has been working with me in this area. I
became unemployed in 1992 when I quit my job and tried to start my
own business. As I sat contemplating my situation, I
also did a lot of praying and seeking the Lord's guidance for a job
and in my life.
The more I sought the Lord, the more
His will in my life became evident. And this is how He
led me.
It all began with trusting Him. See, I've always had faith in Him as God, but never really allowed Him to run my life. I always thought that my life was my own and that no one controlled it but myself. This is where God started with me and hasn't really finished yet. He started by daring me to trust him to provide for me in everything; and that included food, clothing, housing, income, and whatever I had been doing on my own. Talk about a trip. Much of it appeared to be downhill, but it has been a very worthwhile trip that has also been very rewarding. Yes, my human living style has drastically changed, but my spiritual life and living style has been a constant climb to higher ground.
When the Lord directs our paths and our course of action, things really happen that we don't expect and can't explain. The Lord has provided for me, not according to human standards, but according to His will for me and I have had nothing to complain about, anyway, not once I realized that His ways were not the same as my way.
To learn more about my experiences over the past several years, email me at the email address given in the Contact Us link below. This invitation is extended to those who wish to learn more about trusting the Lord for their human needs and to those who desire prayer in this matter.
To learn where the Lord wants you, turn to Matthew 6:33 & 34.
