FEAR

Have you ever thought that you simply could not do a certain task that was required of you?  Are you being intimidated by others who are in leadership positions?  Are you afraid of something, yet act aggressively towards that certain something?   Is your aggression an activity of your fear?

Fear can cover a multitude of issues within your character.  You may appear calm and cool on the outside, yet inside you are reeling in fear of letting someone else control the situation.  Can your fear even be false?  Is your fear self-imposed or learned from others?  Have others in your life manipulated your own thoughts so much that you are afraid of stepping out on your own and creating your own image of yourself?

Fear can be very devastating to an individual's ability to relate to others that everything tried will turn into a failure.

Where does this fear come from?  In most people, there is an innate need to belong to someone and to be loved by someone.  When we are children, we get spanked when we misbehave.  When we are grown ups, we get fired from a job or made not welcome when we don't meet the expectations of those in authority over us.  When this happens often enough, it becomes a very negative attitude builder within us and can make itself visible by the way we talk about ourselves or others, by the way we receive reprimands or refusals, by the way we relate to members of our own family and by our ability to even live with ourselves.  All of this is because we don't feel important to anyone else or to ourselves.   All this can be attributed to fear.

The fear of not being loved.  The fear of not being wanted.  The fear of not being able to do something.  The fear of not making the grade.  The fear of being alone.  The fear of being in the wrong part of a city.  The fear of doing something incorrectly.  The fear of not being liked.   The fear of not having a friend to share life with.   The fear of being on your own.  The fear of doing things by yourself.  The fear of growing old, and of dying.   The fear of associating with people who are different than ourselves.  The fear of not having an income.   The fear of saying the wrong things.  The fear of being left out.  The fear, the fear, the fear, the fear ............., and it can go on and on and on indefinitely.

Where did this fear begin?  Where has this fear taken you?  Down some unwanted roads?  Are you always searching for the right job or the right place to be?  Do you end up being dissatisfied with things when they don't go your way?   Again, fear is at the root.  Can this cycle be broken?

YES IT CAN!!!!!!!!!!!

Where did this fear come from?  It's definitely not of the Lord because God has not given any of us a spirit of timidity or fear.  So, if God has not given it to us, who has?  The only other gift giver is Satan, and his gifts aren't the real thing--and you know that.   So, how can this cycle of fear be broken?

For me the answer is simple, but for you it may take some convincing.  For me, it is to turn the fear over to the Lord Jesus Christ to deal with.   When Jesus died on the cross, He took all of my human failings with Him and buried them with Himself in the grave.   But, GLORY BE TO JESUS, when He arose from the grave, He left all that in the grave and rose victorious with a new and glorified body.  So, give all of your fears to Him and leave them on Him.  He even encourages us to do that when He says to lay all of our cares upon Him because He does care for us.

You claim you can't do that.  Why not?  Don't you believe He did this for you?  If you say you believe this, how can you not lay your human cares upon Him?  That must be what it means when it is said that the truth is not in us then?  Let's make truth a rock we stand upon in our daily lives.

Go on-----DO IT!!!!!!!

Knowing the truth of the Gospel and living it are two different things.  A person can have all of the head knowledge in the world, yet not have the living Gospel in their life.  To know the Lord is to love the Lord is to live the Lord.  To know the Lord is not to just know the Bible from memory.  That is only head knowledge.  To know the Lord is not to just love Him and have Him in your heart.  That is faith and many people have that.  To know the Lord is to have Him in your mind, in your heart, and way down deep in your very existence(soul).   When the Lord lives in every fiber of your being, one can place everything upon Him and walk away unscathed by any attack from Satan.

Believe me, this is true.  Just go into the Bible and read the stories about others who did this.  Let's start with Abraham going out from his homeland and trusting the Lord to lead him.  Then Jacob had to do the same thing.  So did Joseph when he was sold into slavery by his own brothers.  And Moses when he was told to go before the king of Eqypt.  What about Moses when he was leading the people of Israel through the sea on dry land?  Where was his fear?  And David when he fought Goliath.  What about the Israelites when they were taken as prisoners to Babylon.  Or the three men in the firey furnace.  Daniel in the lion's den.  The Jewish leaders who fought against the Roman Empire before Christ was born.  AND WHAT ABOUT JESUS WHEN HE KNEW THE CROSS WAS BEFORE HIM.  And all of the saints since.

The Bible calls this faith.  Martin Luther referred to it as trusting in the Lord.  Some churches teach that this is what the altar call is about.  Others call it letting go and letting God do things.  Give it whatever name you choose, it is all the same.  It is relying on the Lord Jesus Christ to protect you, to provide the means for you to do something, to give you the strength to go through a difficult situation, and to give you the victory at the end.  So, whatever you are afraid of, place it upon the Lord and let Jesus take it to the cross and bury it.   Let Him give you the victory over fear that you need and let Him give you that new and victorious life.  He promised all of this to us and His promises are not fake.  They are for real.

Please write to us at our email address if we can help you any further.

Let the Love of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Peace of the Holy Spirit and the Joy of the Lord God Almighty be with you always.   AMEN!!!!!!
