RACISM & SEXISM

To you who are reading this, you may think that this is way off and shouldn't be talked about at all.  Others may think that this is just another ploy by the white folk to undermine the black folk.  Yet, others may not want to shake the cages of either side and continue to let things remain as is.   Oh, what a surprise you have!

Since the Holy Bible is our standard and norm for all of these discussions, let us begin there with this also.  Can you tell me where in the Holy Scriptures it states anything about a person's skin color determining a person's social status or employment status?   And, the same question pertains to the status of women.   Can you find a Scripture reference that says people of one skin color or of one sex are superior to another?  In doing some digging, there are several references to women being considered the 'weaker vessel', or the 'more precious ornament', but none that refer to women as being less intelligent or having a lesser ability to learn.  There are no references to a person's skin color determining a person's status in life.   NONE!!!!!!  As was said before, human opinion can't stand up to God's design or opinion.

Let's begin at the beginning.  Whether one reads Genesis in the Bible, the Koran, or the Torah, all three say the same thing about how humans were created.  Genesis 1: 26 & 27 read:   "Then God said, 'Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all creatures that move along the ground.'  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them."   In Galatians 3: 26 - 29  we read:  "You are all Sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have been clothed with Christ.   There is neither Jew nor Greek (different ethnic groups), slave nor free (employment groups), male nor female (sexual groupings), for you are all one in Christ Jesus.  If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."    Neither of these quotes, which state how we were created and to whom we belong, state anything about skin color or sexual superiority.

Can this really be true?   Have you ever had cause to doubt God's Word?   Can you place human doubt upon these statements?  Can you state where our human concepts of racial or sexual superiority came from?

This all goes back to the Triune God being true, faithful, just, holy, and desiring our best welfare.  Would God really teach us that one race or sex is superior to another?  No, God cannot lie!!!!!!!   If God cannot lie, then who is the father of all lies and who has convinced all humans that one skin color, a certain ethnic group, or a certain sex is superior to another?   Can you answer these questions honestly?

Okay, so God didn't teach us racism or sexism.  Then who did and for what purpose?  The only answer left is the Devil, and for the purpose of causing strife, conflict, and ultimately, death to the warring parties.  Ugh!!!!!  And, we fell for it too, didn't we?  So, how do we get out of the mess we've gotten ourselves into by listening to the Devil?  By turning our minds and lives inside out and listening to the Word of God as written in the Bible.  That's good for those who teach the Word of God according to God's instructions, but what about those who teach the Word of God according to human traditions?   They need to search the Scriptures and listen to the voice of God as he speaks to them while they study.

Here's one example:   Women are to be treated as the weaker vessel.   What does that mean to you?  Does this mean that women have less strength then men?  Does this mean that women have less intelligence then men?  Does this mean that women have less stamina then men?  None of the above.   Let me explain it this way:  Who of you has had a very precious piece of jewelry or a very valuable piece of property, whether an antique car or an original oil painting?   Did you protect this item with maximum insurance, guards, or other type of security?  Did you display it out in the open or keep it protected in a safe?

Women, in God's eyes, are to be treated the same way.  They are to be polished, shined, displayed, protected, insured, and regarded more precious then men.  In this sense, they are the weaker vessel, that is, the more precious vessel, not the more delicate or breakable vessel.  Precious in this sense means more dear or more valuable.

Those of you who are married to women might profit from this by putting this into practice.  I wonder how many marriages would shine if the women were treated so well.  I wonder how many women in the world would have a better standard of existence if they were treated so valuably and honorably.  Life would definitely change for the better.

Now, let us consider the issue of skin color as being a means of determining one's educational level or social status.  According to the Lord, there is no issue.  In Christ, all are considered Sons of God.  In God's creation, all were created in the image of God.  This includes male and female, too.   Can we then hold each other hostage to these opinions?   NO!  These barriers need to come down and the only way to bring them down is by the washing away of this great sin (evil) and taking on new thoughts and opinions.

Who can wash this great sin (evil) away?  How can we put on these new thoughts and opinions?  It is the blood of Jesus Christ that washes this sin away and it is his life in us that lets us put on these new thoughts and opinions.  There is nothing else that can do this.  Only the washing of the blood of the Lamb of God.
