Moorings_Hotel.jpg (53586 bytes)     We left Baton Rouge before sunrise to catch an early morning flight out of New Orleans.  We arrived on Tortola mid-afternoon on Monday and relaxed from a long day of flying.  This is the grounds around the Moorings hotel.

Boat_01.jpg (53575 bytes)     Tuesday morning we attended a briefing for cruising in the BVI.   After the session we gathered and stored the food, drinks, etc on the boat.   This boat, "Carpe Diem", was to be our home for the next 10 days.

Moorings is the charter company that we used.  Their facilities, staff, and equipment were first class.  I would highly recommend them for a charter.  The boat we reserved was a Moorings 352 which is essentially a Beneteau 352 (the boat is 35 feet long and has 2 separate cabins).  The boat was one year old and in great shape.

We left the marina about 1:30 that afternoon and had a short sail to Norman Island. We anchored in the "Bight" for the evening.

The next morning we had breakfast and snorkeled for a while before setting sail.  We sailed past Peter, Salt, Cooper and Ginger Islands on to the "Baths" at the southern end of Virgin Gorda.

On to Virgin Gorda
