Before the digging starts.

Digging a pond seemed to be a good excuse to rent and play with a mini-backhoe.

The digging begins.

The hole gets deeper.

Shelves are dug out in a couple of different layers.

Rocks are stacked up along the pond walls.

The liner in the pond is completely covered with rocks.

A stream leads from the water fall to the pond.

It actually holds water!

More plants will be added this spring.

Not too bad for a first pond!

The waterfall is pretty well landscaped.
