Hugo van Staden qualified as a Remedial Massage Therapist at The Lindstrom College of Swedish Massage. In 1978 he was registered with the South African Medical and Dental Council as a 'Physical Therapist'.

At the end of 1997 Hugo left his busy, thriving, private practice in Johannesburg, South Africa  and settled in Sydney, Australia.

His private practice was in the northern suburbs of Sydney, St Ives, Australia.
