Club General Rules
These rules concern OFF the field conduct of a member
1. Colourful Language
Barracks language was part of the lives of soldiers. We feel that in private correspondence, there is no need to refrain from using colourful language, nor to point out it's use.
1a. Verbal abuse will not be tolerated. On the first instance, the offending party will be warned. On the second instance, his membership will be terminated.
Verbal Abuse is defined as language directed at a member which is either insulting or demeaning, whether profane language is used or not.
1a1. If a member feels he is being verbally abused, he will tell NO ONE except his Army Commander. His Army Commander will then bring the correspondence to the Club Founders/Presidents. They will take the matter from there.
1b. Colourful or abusive language may NOT be used at the chat board. On the first instance a member will be warned. On the second instance his membership will be terminated. Free chat boards require clean language.
2. Cheating and Accusations of Cheating
Cheating is as repugnant as it is difficult to prove. If you need to cheat, you're not welcome here.
2a. Accusations of cheating will not be tolerated. Cheating by either replaying a phase or modifying the game files are almost virtually unproveable. Sullying a member's name because you saw something that may have been no more than a computer glitch is unacceptable. Anyone who makes such an accusation in public will have his membership terminated.
2a1. If you suspect that your opponent is either replaying phases or has modified files outside the club expected norms, your two alternatives are: 1. Terminate the game and accept the loss. 2. Continue the game to it's conclusion.
3. Failure to Follow Club Wargaming Rules
It is a fact that we are all human and make mistakes, and often fail to see them no matter how many times we look. Because the rules are quite comprehensive a certain amount of leeway should be given to a member by his opponent.
The following procedure will be followed:
step 1a. If your opponent's mistake does not impede your plans, nor cause an unfair amount of damage, tactfully notify him and continue the game.
Step 1b. If your opponent's mistake does impede your plan or causes an unfair amount of damage, resend him the previous phase and ask him to correct the error. Be specific noting hex locations, always being tactful. If the problem is resolved at this point continue play.
If the problem isn't resolved, or your opponent disagrees about interpretation of the rule:
Step 2. Send the game file (and Password if applicable) to your army commander. Your Army commander will then contact your opponent's Army Commander who will retrieve from his Army member a copy of the file and password (if applicable) Failure to supply a password or file to your Army Commander is grounds for membership termination.
Step 3. The opposing Army Commanders will discuss the rule and possible interpretations. If the rule is unclear one of them will approach a club President for clarification. If the rule is clear and has been breached, they will attempt to thoroughly explain the rule to the member who possibly misunderstands. They will then offer him the choice of 1. Replaying the phase. 2. Terminating the game and accepting defeat.
Step 4. If the problem isn't resolved at this point, the Army Commanders will forward the file to the Club Founders/Presidents for summary judgement.
Repeated failure to follow the rules is grounds for membership termination. Misunderstandings will be tolerated. Flagrant violations will not. We're about history, not manipulating the game system.
