THE STUCKEY FAMILY John and Barbara (Strubhar) Stuckey were pioneers of McLean Co., IL and the parents of Joseph E. Stuckey, born November 16, 1857 near Washington, IL. They were also the parents of Mrs. Anna Stahley, Mrs. Ernest Weppler, E.M. Stuckey, P.J. Stuckey, Louis Stuckey, Mrs. John Wells, Miss Nettie A. Stuckey, and Jacob Stuckey. Their daughter, Martha, born January 14, 1832 in Dillon, IL married Rees Gaddis on March 2, 1851. Six children were born to them, two of whom died in infancy or early childhood. Rees and Martha's home became a frequent stop for preachers of that day. This family resided in Tazewell County until 1885 when they moved to a farm in Colfax.
