A STATEMENT
ON BEHALF OF THE IRISH GLEN OF IMAAL TERRIER OWNERS AND BREEDERS ASSOCIATION Blue/brindle
has Blue hair with tan hairs through the coat.
When a blue brindle is stripped out the underhair will darken to an inky
blue and will lighten as the hair grows. Wheaten
when stripped out darkens to a deep red and lightens out. Dilutions may occur when mating blue/brindle to Wheaten, blue
(slate-blue) and silver blue may occur and on occasions light wheaten.
Black and tan is not the old description of the breed – i.e. slate and
tan (the colour of slates in the rain). Also
described as brindled. There will
be no changes in the colour clause in the standard it will remain as
Blue/brindle and Wheaten. The F.C.I.
accepts the Irish Standard of Points worldwide. For the Executive Committee, |
