IT HAPPEND ON THE 26TH OF MAY 1998.
Rijeka was playing against Osijek in the last match of the championship. In that game Rijeka needed to beat Osijek to become champion of Croatia. Rijeka was one point ahead of Croatia Zagreb who wone there match against Varteks. So now Croatia was two points in the lead and Rijeka had five more minutes left in their game. In 88th minute of the match the score was Rijeka - Osijek 1:1 and then the last minute came........
Then in the 89th minute in front of 30000 souls intentional horror happend. Barnabas Sztipanovich has crossed the ball to Admir Hasancic who scored from six metars. It was over Rijeka, has won and become the Champion but then everybody have sudenly stoped breathing. Eyes of 30000 men and women looked only in one man.
Linesman Zoran Krecak has signalized offside but it wasen't offside, the goal was so clean even the main refere Alojzije Supraha pointed to centre, for him it was a goal. But mr. Krecak said to him: "It is an offside." so main refere disalowed goal.
Croatian Football Association confirmed the offside when experts said that goal was regular, even the president of referes resigned because he could't belive what was happening in Croatian Football.
SO AGAIN UNPUNISHED CRIME HAS HAPPEND, BUT THIS ONE WAS THE LARGEST OF THEM ALL. EVERYBODY KNOWS WHO ARE CRIMINALS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS BUT THEY ARE TO POWERFUL TO BE TOUCHED.
