Samuel Walkup ( Wauchope) "The Immigrant" was born ABT 1698 in Strabane, Tyrone, Ireland Married ABT 1719; Ireland and died ABT 1788; Lexington, Rockbridge Co., VA. His wife Nancy Agnes Alexander was born ABT 1702; Carrick Fergus, Antrim, Ireland.

Samuel Wauchope and Nancy Agnes Alexander had the following children:

1. Joseph Walkup born April 1719 in Ulster, Ireland: died 1787 in Rockingbridge Co. Va.
He married Rebecca Grayham about 1736 daughter of Christopher Grayham and Margaret Riske. She was born 1716.

1. Matthew Walkup Jr. was born May 1780 on Rockbridge Co., Va. and died July 1873 in Glen's Fork, Adair Co. Ky. He married (1) Elizabeth "Betsy" Polly April 28, 1802 in Adair Co. Ky. She was born about 1780 N.C. and died about 1850 in Glen's Fork, Adair Co., Ky. is buried in Walkup Cemetery in Adair Co. Ky. She was the daughter of John Polly and Susal. Matthew married (2) Elizabeth "Betsy" Polly September 30, 1802 in Glen's Fork, Adair Co. Kentucky.

She was born about 1814 in Rockbridge Co., Va. died April 16, 1874 in Glen's Fork, Adair Co., Ky. Married (2) Louisa Hicks December 17, 1840.

Talbert White Walkup (Talbot) was born December 6, 1854 in Adair County, Kentucky and died July 1917 in Sedan, New Mexico, Union County.
His parents were Oliver Garnet Walkup and Martha Cravens Turner.
He married twice, Sarah Shaw and second wife Thesalonia Annie Elizabeth Shaw.

Children of Talbert White Walkup and Sarah Shaw were;

(i.)Claude Walkup was said to have left home at an early age and never married, possibly died in California.

(ii.)Oliver (Ollie) Walkup a store manager in Amarillo Tx.

(iii.)John Thomas Walkup b. about 1877 in Adair Co. K.y. he was a contractor in Lubbuck Tx. Married Betty Jo Feazel
