Gleek

The game of Gleek is said to be a favorite of Catherine of Aragon. It is a fish-style game The object is to collect three cards of the same rank and to wager on the hands. My only source so far does not give the specific rules.  The 2s and 3s are taken out of the deck. It must be for three players, because each person gets 12 cards dealt to him. The remaining 8 (totaling 44 cards if three people are playing) are placed in a pile for players to purchase, with the exception of the turned up card that belongs to the dealer. The aces (Tibs), jacks (Toms), and 4s (Tiddies) each have to be paid for to acquire.

I have found another reference on-line.  I will be reading through it and and updating this in the future.
