This is a dice game played on a checkerboard. The only reference to it I have seen is in the Guilde's Checkers and Draughts Games rulebook. It gives other sources. The uniqueness of this game would make it a good visual for at the Faire. There are two players, each with three dice (my choice). Each player is assigned one of the colors on the checkerboard. One player rolls his dice. He scores points from the dice that land totally within a square of his color. If any portion of a die is outside the square, touching the opponent's color, that die is not scored. Play alternates until a total is reached. The book uses 101, but we may need to decrease that due to short attention spans.
