St. George Play
Robin Hood Play

I don't have all the info in front of me regarding the history behind mumming plays.  I know they consisted of groups of people who went from house to house performing plays and were to receive payment.  Unlike a traveling troupe of actors, however, these were local folks usually performing as part of a larger observance, such as a church holiday.  We will get more accurate historical information here later.  In the meantime, to the left are links to two scripts crafted in the mumming style by former Guilde of St. Ives director, Ralph Scotese.
