I started working with beads in the late 1960's.   I've lived in the Chicago area most of my life and would travel downtown to this wonderful store with zillions of bead packets covering all four walls of the shop.   I was in my early years of high school where all I could do was watch the  events unfolding around me; the Viet-Nam War, Kent State and racial conflict. In my room I played my guitar and  I discovered color patterns and the Daisy Chain. During this time I took my first steps in Christian faith and found my identity in the Lord Jesus Christ. Through college, marriage and children I still had the desire to create.   I volunteered one summer about five years ago to be a Camp Craft Director  and re-discovered Beadwork. It was like I found a long lost friend.

Well my history came first.

I love color and textures because these pull at my curiosity and enrich it.   I believe any two colors have the ability to harmonize together as you work with tones and shades.  Beads allow me to produce all of these things, work with my hands and is very portable.  I tell stories with my work to my viewers.  I think of   my art and its viewers as they are  entering another world, where you can get lost in it for awhile and then come out refreshed, or challenged, maybe even bothered and perplexed..  I enjoy actual scenes and I might follow a pattern or two to give my brain some rest but the majority of my work are my own designs and imagination.
