Remington 700 bolt handle modification |
Have any
of you ever had or seen the Rem 700 Silver soldered bolt handle get
pulled off? I have, a few in fact. I have a mod I am doing on the 700 bolt handle, that gets rid of this potential problem. Here is the procedure. I drill, tap and counter sink three 6-48 holes in the portion of the handle that wraps around and is silver soldered to the bolt. The hole go completely through the bolt body. I then fit three Torx head 6-48 screws and solder them in place with a lower heat solder rated at 10,000 PSI tensile strength. The screw heads are absolutely flush with the bolt handle, and the ends are flush with inside of the bolt body. This is the perfect addition to a Badger or other oversize bolt handle. It is another step in making the rifle as "bullet proof" as possible. The bolt handle, and
or the entire bolt is blasted and coated with HD coat.
Cost is $55.00. $150.00 with the Badger knob installed Standard Ground UPS shipping insured for $300.00 is included
