When I first saw a picture of Ryuu Kumon from a Ranma 1/2 memorial book (completely in Japanese, of course!), the first idea that clicked in my mind was "Wow!  Ryoga's got a brother?" My friend and I searched for information on him for months...  Then when I did find something, it was a revelation....

THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH EACH OTHER!!!

    Although I recently found out that Ryuu's father dies and Ryoga's father is lost somewhere (Hibiki's...  Go figure.), Takahashi doesn't want us to realize these similairites....  So they may still be..... COUSINS!!!!

This prompted my thesis:  Ryuu and Ryoga are cousins:

1.)  Look at the hair.  Black hair wth large bangs facing to the right.  Also both of them have bandannas....  Hmmm?

2.)  What do Ryuu and Ryoga wear a lot of?  You guessed it!  Tanktops!  Apparently, these two like showing off their pythons!

3.)  What's on the back?  Backpacks!  Although Ryuu HAS a sense of direction, it seems that these two like to travel...

4.)  I've seen Ryuu crack a stone statue.  I've seen Ryoga split a boulder in half.  What's the connection?  Strength.  If you look at it from my perspective, strength might just be an inherited trait....

5.) Look at the names! Ryuu... Ryoga... Pretty close, hmm?
