CHALKY, DUFUS AND SHIRT
- THE SITCOM -
INTRODUCTION
After 8 years, the trio was to part – Dufus was to be moving permanently (or as permanently as anything ever is with him) to Birmingham. He was slightly aggrieved that he seemed to have been replaced by a GIRL (who not only had a sense of balance, and financial sense, but was able to remember most of the words to songs), but was slightly cheered up, by the fact that he would have got up to any of those things with Chalky.
To mark this event (and to save money on buying him a leaving gift), Shirt aided by Chalky, decided to write “Chalky, Dufus and Shirt – The Sitcom”. For several years, Dufus had posited two ideas:1) that the three friends should all live together in a flat; 2) that the adventures of Chalky, Dufus & Shirt would make a good sitcom. So therefore in honour of the gang being broken up for what may be a long time, what follows is an amalgamation of these two ideas, so that “Chalky, Dufus & Shirt” will live on in a new medium. (Just think yourselves lucky that you’re not getting “Chalky, Dufus & Shirt – The Musical”!)
Since then there have been two (imaginary) series of the sitcom, and Shirt penned a two part Special to mark the marriage of Chalky and Tigger (script edited by Dufus).
