Chalky,
Dufus and Shirt……Have Been Persuaded to Stay

Shirt was torn!
After we patched him up with a spare bit of tartan from the dressmaking drawer, he was still in a dilemma (although he did quite like the mix of spots and tartan he was now wearing).
Should he get the nubile Nicola Bryant's autograph on his Attack of the Cybermen cover by attending The What Shop, or should he meet the acronymous Mr. John Nathan-Turner at 7th Galaxy?
After finding out he could get Miss Bryant's signature anyway from 7th Galaxy (who were going to see her the following day), Shirt's mind was made up.
The trio arrived at the shop with the usual trepidation (and juvenile race to be the first there).
They got their videos and extra covers (the limited edition tins being sealed with extra-strong cellophane) and tried to work out the intensely difficult operation that was getting the covers signed by JNT, but also getting them signed by Colin Baker, Nicola Bryant and Anneke Wills. Needless to say, Dufus was utterly confused, but that said, Chalky and Shirt weren't entirely clear on the arrangements. All would work itself out though.
They queued and waited for the star guest to arrive.
"I don't want a photo," said Chalky, thinking - no one will know who the hell it is anyway.
However, all that changed when he noticed that JNT was doing photos with his customary 'finger-pointing' pose.
"I must have a photo," said Chalky, changing his mind in his inimitable fickle manner.
"Have you listened to any of the Large Endings audio adventures?" asked Chalky of JNT as he signed the covers.
"I've heard one," replied JNT.
"What did you think?" asked Chalky.
"I thought it was very good," he replied (a little non-comittedly).
A man at the end of the table grabbed at Chalky's Attack of the Cybermen cover, wrote down his name and shoved it in a plastic envelope. Seconds before thumping him one, Chalky realised this was so he could get the other autographs J .
The friends moved on and said their goodbyes.
