All-Star Wrap Up
All-Star Wrap Up (February 14, 2000)

Here's a quick rundown of what I've noticed in the past couple of weeks.

What's the deal with Rick Pitino? You can't just go back on a deal just because the media is all over you! Damn him! The Raptors got a decent young forward in Danny Fortson, who would have created cap space and added some toughness until the end of the season. He may have even resigned, although I doubt it. Alvin Williams wasn't going to play with Heywoode Workman signed and Sean Marks never played. Look for Williams, Marks and possibly Dee Brown and/or Michael Stewart to be traded as well.

The All-Star festivities were out in full force over the weekend. 2Ball is lame. The three point shoot out was horrid. But Vince Carter saved the day. His dunks were incredible. The first dunk was awesome, a 360 windmill. The pass he took from McGrady and put it between his legs was incredible as well. Basically, he was the dunk contest. T-Mac and Stevie Franchise (aka Steve Francis) were also dunking well. The All-Star game was like a street ball game, but I liked it. Dunks, three pointers, running, alley-oops. The NBA is the one league that lends itself best to the All-Star format.
