Vince's Slump
Vince's Slmup (May 1, 2001)

It's been a while since I've written anything. But since I have a lot of time on my hands now, I'll be writing more. I don't know if that's a good thing.

In this first instalment, I want to talk about the Raptors. After watching the first three games, I've noticed a few things. The Knicks really played great team defence. They know how to shut down Vince Carter. The Raptors are setup very similar to the 76ers. They have role players who know their role to complement their star. Iverson is like Carter in that sense. Vince is getting shut down by Sprewell and the Knicks. The Knicks are hammering him when he goes to the hole so he's settling for the jumper, which has not been falling. Personally, I think Vince needs to take it to the hole, take contact and draw fouls. In the playoffs, the refs don't call nearly as many fouls compared to the regular season.

Alvin Williams and Antonio Davis are playing great. Both are free agents after this year, so look for them for big paydays. I bet Davis will get almost $10 million a year while Williams is going to get about $5 million a year. Both will come back with the Raptors, since they can pay both the most.

Finally, the Knicks will win the series because they are playoff ready. They have the mentality to succeed in the playoffs. They will not lose to a team their equal, like the Raptors. They will only lose to a team their superior. They have a superior will to win.
