If your cable system is not listed here please call them and ask for UHF KJLA Los Angeles Ch. 57
KJLA is a minority-owned, full power UHF television station serving the Hispanic, audience in the Los Angeles area. KJLA offers unique bilingual programming that includes live talk shows and music-oriented entertainment.
KJLA has been in operation since the fall of 1990. Recently KJLA has been given expanded must-carry cable rights in Los Angeles County. The total household viewership of approximately 700,000 is growing rapidly, and includes over 400,000 cable households in Los Angeles County, in addition to those in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. Additiona cable systems in Los Angeles County are in process of beginning cable carriage of KJLA, and the station expects total cable households to number 1,000,000 by the end of 1999.
KJLA broadcasts via full power (500,000 watts ERP) on channel 57 in Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara Counties. KJLA also broadcasts on channel 44, serving the San Fernando Valley and beyond. In addition, the Mt. Wilson relay (channel 54) is designed to reach cable systems in the Los Angeles area and eastward. The station can also be seen on channel 25 in the Santa Maria area.
As part of its continued growth, KJLA is offering more original programming produced in our Los Angeles studio. These programs are designed to be cutting edge, while serving the growing young and mobile Hispanic/Latino bilingual audience in Los Angeles. KJLA is unique in providing top quality entertainment shows to the heretofore poorly served but enormous bilingual audience in the Los Angeles area.
