Darkness falls behind the door
     the little girl cries.
   Afraid and alone in a world of pain
     her bleeding heart rains.
   The distant shadows of her
     memories do fall
   Battered and bruised from the
    thorns in her soul.
   The walls are all crumbling
   all hope is but gone.
  Her dreams keep her searching
   her prayers keep her strong.

  Won't you open your arms to her
   and whisper in her ear..
  Tell her she is special and loved
   and wash away her fears??
  Take away her pain inside
   and fill it with no lies??
  Never walk away from her
   stay beside her when she cries??

  The little girl inside lives
