I must admit that I've never been a huge fan of solo books. Maybe it's because I can't fill my daily quota of superhero action with just ONE good guy running around. Iron Fist totally changed my opinion. I've always liked Danny Rand, but more in the confines of a partner/team environment. Jay's take on the character has given me plenty of martial arts kickbutt action while placing enough of a new spin on Fist to keep things interesting. After aiding a SHIELD squadron against a riot gang, Iron Fist is drafted by SHIELD for a mission to Latveria. That mission being to infiltrate Dr. Doom's castle. Talk about a rough first issue!
Going to Latveria, Daniel Rand can live with. Being ambushed by Doombots, Danny can deal with that. But on top of that, an attack by Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker and HYDRA? Holy martial arts action, Iron Fist, this is gonna be a doozy!
Back in the US of A, Iron Fist returns to SHIELD HQ to learn Misty Knight and Colleen Wing missing. Not to mention that nasty Death-Spore virus plauging him! Can you say "welcome home"?!
