VOLUNTEER DRIVERS NEEDED
Volunteers from Elko drive veterans to the Salt Lake City Veterans Medical Center for their scheduled appointments. The Disabled American Veterans has provided us with a late model, 4-wheel drive SUV to use for this purpose. We leave around 4-am from the Stockmen's Hotel and arrive in SLC for 9-am appointments. We usually get back to Elko around 5pm. The volunteer drivers receive meal tickets for breakfast and lunch while at the hospital. At present, we could use a few extra drivers, so if you can volunteer to drive once or twice a month please call 800-613-4012 ext.1241 (Volunteer Services) for more information. If you are active in church, perhaps you could ask your minister to run this announcement in your Sunday Bulletin. Our military veterans have served our country, and this is one way we can show our appreciation.
