Texas Powerlifting
The sport of powerlifting consist of performing three primary weight lifting exercises. The first is the Squat. The weight bar is placed on the back, the lifter must under control, squat down until their hip joint is at or below knee level. Then must accend up to the staring erect position.
The next lift is one that most people know, the bench press. Unlike the usual so called gym press, when competing the lifter must lower the bar to their chest and pause it (usual the judges will give an audible press signal) which some times feels like an eternity. Once the press signal is given, the lifter pushes the weight back up to lockout.
The final lift, which is my favorite, is the deadlift. The lifter walks up to the bar (the bar is on the ground), and pulls it until the lifters is standing erect (arms to the side). Below are links to more powerlifting information and organizations.
