1998 NCAA Final Four..San Antonio, Texas..The Alamodome.

The Road to San Antonio is complete and once again here are the Cats. The Cats would match up against the Stanford Cardinal in one SemiFinal matchup and the other would be the North Carolina TarHeels against the Utah Running Utes. It was a great Final Four, and North Carolina was the Favorite coming in but could the Heels prove themselves, NO WAY.

Stanford VS Kentucky.

The first National SemiFinal game saw the Kentucky Wildcats versus the Stanford Cardinal. This was a hightly anticipated matchup. The game started with the Cats hitting on all cylinders but it was not long before the Cardinal would be off and running. The Cardinal were draining 3's left and right. With size and speed before you knew it the Cardinal was ahead by 8.
The Cardinal controlled much of the first half with 3's and rebounding to lead the Cats at the half. But in the second half the Cats Came back just as they were beginning to get known for. Hitting 3's of their own and the inside play of Nazr Mohammed the Cats got back in the game and eventually took the lead. But the Cardinal kept on fighting and fought the game right into overtime. It was seesaw back and forth in the overtime period but the Cats finally took the lead and never again gave it up. The cats won the game and moved on to the Championship game by defeating the Cardinal 86-85. It was a great game and the Cats would have to wait and see who would win the other SemiFinal game between Utah and North Carolina which was Utah.
